Introduction of Tungsten Bar Stock
Tungsten Bar Stock is a powder metallurgy product consisting mainly of a hard phase
and a binder phase. The hard phase is very hard, mainly various
carbides. The main carbides are: tungsten carbide (WC), titanium
carbide (TiC), tantalum carbide (TaC) and niobium carbide (NbC). In
most cases, cobalt is used as a binder phase. In cemented carbide
plants, cemented carbides are mixed, pressed and sintered.
The classification of cemented carbide is carried out according to
ISO standards. This classification is based on the material class
of the workpiece (P, M, K, N, S, H). Different carbide materials
have different uses, such as turning, milling, hole machining,
threading, grooving, etc.
Tungsten steel is a hard alloy, also known as tungsten-titanium
alloy. The hardness is 10K Vickers, second only to diamonds. For
this reason, tungsten steel products (commonly available in
tungsten steel watches) have characteristics that are not easily
worn.
